Current Research Interests

Primarily the ecology of brown/grizzly bears in Alaska, especially in Denali National Park and Preserve: habitat use, behavior with respect to habitat and in relation to human activity, and to a lesser extent some aspects of population ecology. I am also interested in landscape-level boreal forest ecology as well as broad questions of park and wildland management policies.

Current Status with Respect to New Graduate Students

I am unlikely to become involved with new graduate students except as a supplementary member of an advisory committee.
